An Lam Saigon River · Review
Is An Lam Saigon River worth it? An honest review
Yes, if you want a quiet riverside retreat with a private pool and are happy to stay put: An Lam Saigon River’s setting, villas and butler service are its strengths, and guests consistently rate it well. It is poorer value if you plan to sightsee daily, care a lot about food prices or mind mosquitoes.

| Criterion | Our verdict | Why |

| Rooms | Very good | Every unit is 64 m² or more and five types have a private pool; some fittings show wear |
| Service | Excellent | The butler team is the most praised part of a stay |
| Food | Mixed | Southern Vietnamese dinners are well liked; prices are high and breakfast choice is narrow |
| Pool & spa | Good | Full spa with sauna and steam room; the shared pool is modest |
| Location | Mixed | Peaceful, but 30–45 minutes from the centre with nothing within walking distance |
| Value | Mixed | Strong for a two- or three-night escape; weaker once meals and transfers add up |

What it does well, and where it falls short
Strength
A real garden by the water
Mature trees, a riverside lawn and decks over the water make the resort feel far from the city, though it sits within Ho Chi Minh City’s limits. It is the reason guests mention most often for coming back.
Book it if quiet, green surroundings and evenings by the river are what you are after.
Skip it if insects bother you: dense garden and water mean mosquitoes.
Strength
Large rooms with character
Rooms start at 64 m² and are finished in grey timber, dark wood, Thanh Hoa granite and local rattan, with canopy beds. Five types have a private pool.
Book it if you want a villa or suite worth spending time in.
Skip it if you expect a newly built, flawless finish — some fittings are worn.
Mixed
Food and drink
Guests praise the southern Vietnamese dinners at Sen but find prices high across the board and breakfast choice narrow. With no restaurants nearby and no outside food allowed, the resort’s menus are your menus.
Book it if you are happy to pay resort prices for the convenience.
Skip it if you like to eat out cheaply and widely.
Weakness
Getting in and out
The free boat needs 48 hours’ notice and runs to a timetable, and by road the centre is 30–45 minutes away. Several guests wish there were more boat runs in the afternoon and evening.
Book it if you plan to stay put for most of your visit.
Skip it if you want to dip in and out of the city several times a day.
